Thanks John! I spend half of my time (or more) in my Grumman AA-1B.

I flew the 720 today with the BodyGuardz ScreenGuardz HD anti-glare protector. It definitely muted the reflections and helped legibility in bright sunlight conditions. The touchscreen seemed just as sensitive and unaffected except I had some difficulty accurately dragging the course line for rubber-band flight planning. To be honest, though, I don't know if it was just technique or the protector as I had not tried it before the protector was installed. Attached are before-and-after pictures.

Using the EFIS screen as a comparison, you can see the light was more challenging in the second photo with the screen protector, but note the reflections are quite muted!

Guys,
I learned to not like mounting my 720. What I did was to apply a strip of self glued rubber gasket material to the very bottom and one at the very top on the back side and it will rest on my verniers and the panel without moving a bit. I can pick it up whenever I want to use it and glare is never a problem as you can tip it and get rid of it. Also the passenger can also see it and it's in easy reach. I like getting my nose a little closer when zoomed out.

Cheers

Thanks John. The before and after pictures show the difference. Now the touch screen performance seems to be in question. Compared to my wife's iPad the touch screen seems to take a bit heaver finger to operate (my old dry callas fingers). Does adding the Protector make this more difficult? Is there a sensitivity adjustment setting somewhere?

Rich,

I really couldn't tell any difference in touchscreen sensitivity. Like I said, I had some difficulty with the rubber-band dragging, but I had never tried it before. I was unaware that you're only supposed to briefly touch the course line before beginning the drag. I think I was touching too long and that would generate an option dialog for the location I touched. When all else fails, read the directions! HA!

All the buttons, panning the map, etc., seemed to work just the same with the protector in place.

Like most things computer and touchscreen related, I really should play with it more on the ground and not in-flight to be sure I've gotten the "hang" of it!
