grrrrr... its flying season again...went to update my unit and discovered AGAIN that there is something wrong with the connection between the battery and the box....I recall the problem also occurs when I connect the 12v supply direct to the box

Problem: if you wiggle the wire only a small bit (move the box), the unit powers down---even in the middle of a download requiring the unit to start again (if you can get it to start)...this has occurred in flight also which is more troubling... I don't consider the unit reliable now for any IFR work until this gets resolved...I've written about this previously but don't recall a solution

Ed, tks for your response....I made my overnite flight this weekend and connected the 720 directly to the 12v plug and had no problems. I made a point to wiggle the connector on the box to see if I could generate the problem. I believe the problem is the cord between the battery and the 720. My original 700 had the same problem (as I recall). This morning I uploaded all my data by connecting the power adapter directly to the 720 (by-passing the battery). Do you sell the cable in the store?

tks for your support

Per Ed's suggestion, I contacted his office about the problem. I received a new cable several days later. Great Service!! Thanks Ed et al at IFLY

I will probably try it out this weekend.

Hey dogbreath! Hope your all set. The 720's should be fine but on your 700 I may be able to help..

I've mentioned a possible issue with the 700's on the forum. Others have corrected also. For your 700, just querry "Power Jack" in the users forum to read up.

Wade
