IFly 700 Tracks

IFly 700 Tracks

I have the track option turned on and do see the green line indicating my flight. After I cycle the power, the tracks are gone. Do they get saved somewhere? If so, how do I get them and is there a way to overlay them on some sort of sectional to review my flight?

Wade, I think I did what you want to do this past weekend. Here is the path:

Menu -> Settings -> Map Settings -> Past Flights

You will find them sorted by date and time. If you have done any simulated flying you will see them there as well. From there you choose the date and time of the flight and follow the prompts to load it and it will show on your map.

To remove it, you need to go back into the Past Flights dialogue box and choose the option to clear the flights.

I hope that is what you are looking for. I am looking for the way to overlay them on to Google Earth.

The Google Earth solution worked like a champ. I even used the Every Trail off the GPS Visualizer tool to evaluate my flight. The altitude and speed graph as well as course track information allowed me to analyze my approaches closely. It takes a little practice to get the hang of it but it turns out to be a nifty tool!

Tom, that was my next question... I openned the files with Google earth, but how did you find, display, or see the altitude and speed graph information your speaking of?

When I used the GPS Visualizer tool, there was an option to load it into a web app called EveryTrail. It is in EveryTrail that I got the graphed information. You have to go through some effort to fend your way through it and if you have more than one leg in which you powered down the GPS, you will need to combine them to make a whole trip. The app isn't aviation specific but it works brilliantly none-the-less. It just isn't user friendly. If you have saved the tracks you converted with your visualizer tool, you might be able to go to www.everytrail.com and load them from there. Otherwise, if you go through the conversion process with GPS Visualizer, you should see the option to go to EveryTrail. If you'd like, I can send you a sample of mine.
