if the time comes from the gps signal and hopefully the unit knows where I am, why is my time off by 2 hrs?  We all don’t live in TX y’all know!  (Thank god).  Where do I set the local time zone since it appears the unit thinks I’m in the central time zone, not pacific?

Before the iFly boots into the gps program, click on 'Option' to find your time zone. There is a box to check for Daylight Saving Time on the Option page.

The unit knows where you are, but doesn't have knowledge of all the time zone boundaries and laws, and there's no plan to implement such, so pielit's instructions for the manual time zone  and DST settings above is the right answer.  That behavior's been the same for years and years.

The time setting works for the iFly GPS but cannot find a way to set time on my cell phone with iFly GPS app.  My phone doesn't boot up with "options" screen like the iFly GPS does.

iFly always gets its time "externally" from the device it's running on.  Most cell phones default to having their time set by the cell carrier, so when your phone turns on and joins the carrier's network, it will get a time signal from the tower.  Since the tower knows its physical location, most phones also default to having time zones and daylight savings time settings automatically handled by the network.

Whatever time issue you're having with iFly running on your cell phone, you'd be having with any app that uses your cell phone time (alarm clocks, etc.).
