I looked on the forum and in the manual but can’t find an answer to this except that this function is new as of the ver. 6 update. The question is about the "Direct-To this Waypoint" function on the Flight Plan form when you select ‘Option’ on a specific waypoint. The option ‘Direct-To this Waypoint’ I would guess makes the selected waypoint the active waypoint with a course direct to it. When I try this in the simulation mode I can select Direct-To this Waypoint but it totally ignores the input and reverts back to the previously active waypoint. Is this function not working correctly or am I not interpreting the function correctly. Thanks. Kurt M

Kurt,

A NEW manual came out very recently!!!

Did you see the related "NOTE" on page 18 which may help?

Richard,

Hi, I got the new manual (thanks) and saw the note which makes sense about it only accepting future waypoints. That is what Im trying to do is make one of the future waypoints in my active flight plan the active waypoint, but it wont accept any for some reason. Maybe it is just because it is in the sim mode but I dont know. I'll have to go out 'live' and see what happens. Thanks

This feature is not quite perfect yet. The iFly will attempt to detect your target leg by looking at all the routes and selecting the closest one. You can short-circuit this by selecting a future waypoint, and all waypoints between your current and newly selected one will be excluded. But waypoints beyond that one will still be up for grabs. We are going to implement a tweak to this logic so that if a direct-to-route is selected the route-detection logic will not kick in again until you are within 1/4 mile of the selected destination.
