Thanks Logan!

".....Stratux has a computerized AHRS Sensor..."

Hummm. Isn't that (a computerized AHRS Sensor) essentially what the iFly itself has that is what iFly is working during synthetic vision if one doesn't have a true AHRS input into the iFly?

If so, my limited experience with and understanding of the iFly computerized AHRS function suggests it's far better than having no AHRS but slow and lags behind real time quite a bit? Any idea if the AHRS computerized Sensor in Stratux performs better than I'd expect based on the one in iFly's synthetic vision?

The AHRS in the Stratux is much better than the one in the iFly, but might still experience some of the lag still.  When I test stratux at my desk, they do run smooth, with minimal issues, but there has been reports of the drifting, and needed recalibration.  I do have minimal experience with the AstroLink (I have only flown with one once, and did not use the synthetic vision or AHRS, but there are many fantastic reports on its AHRS capabilities.  A good analogy for this would be recieving an A and A+ in a college class.  The A+ is better, but both give you a 4.0 GPA.  I know both devices work great, and there isn't a wrong choice here, but I do want to help you make the educated decision on what would be best for you.

If you have an AHRS module ($15.00) in your Stratux, there is no lag when flying.  There is some drift that will require an occassional recalibration.

I've never used the Astro link, but have used the Stratux for years now. My only issue with it is remembering to shut it down before turning off power to it. I've corrupted two SD cards so far. The shut downdown commend in iFly is great - but you still have to use it.

Hi Don.....

Did you mean that failing to do an orderly shutdown is what corrupted the SD card? Is there an SD card in the Statux, or are you talking abiyt the SD card in your iFly?

(By the way: I keep a duplicate (cloned) SD card for my iFly. Rotate the one at home with the one in the aircraft... So have a backup.)
