Save Settings Locally

I am currently running version 10.0.31 on two 740's and a 720. The last major chart update wiped out my User Settings and Instrument Layouts. Very annoying.

I have the cloud backup enabled, but that is of no use when I am sitting in the airplane ready to go. I've searched the manuals for "backup" and "save settings" without finding anything pertinent. Is there a way to backup/recover these settings locally to the SIM card?

Ought to be flying instead of posting.

A related questions. I noticed the 720 does not show up as a registered device when logging into my "cloud" account using the 740. I do not have the 720 sitting in front of me. Is cloud backup and syncing only available on the 740's?

Bruce,

To answer your first question: There isn't a built-in method of backing up your settings. And I'm sorry you lost those, that of course should never happen. You can manually backup this data by copying the \User folder on your SD card to another location. But as you said, this doesn't help when you are sitting in the cockpit.

To your second question: Yes, the 740 will cloud backup. You just need to login similar to how it works in the app - touch Menu -> About -> My Account
