When I find a airport that I want to fly directly to, I hit the button, up comes the direct to course line, but it does not start where I am but at a nearby location, some times miles away from my present location. How do I get it to go directly to a location from the exact point I am at? Some times it happens but most of the time it starts at some other location. Flying on autopilot the plane will bank sharply to intercept the remote direct to line?

Ozzie,

If you are not moving the iFly will "guess" your departure location by searching for nearby airports (within a mile or two). If none around it will assume your current lat/lon as the departure point. (Note: When in flight it doesn't do this, it will always use your lat/lon as the departure point).

If you want to manually specify the airport you are departing from you can do this by touching the Flight Plan button and modifying your departure point, or you can touch & drag the departure point.

Hope this helps,

Walter

When in flight and I wish to go directly to a spot, it does not start at where I am, but at some other spot, airport, etc. When a get a distance away from an airport, vor, etc. then it goes from my present lat/long location to my desired spot.
