I have 2-720s and on a flight for ifr recurrence one of the units had the plates dark like night mode and I was able to see the airspace underneath the plate but the other was white with no transparency. I seem to have them both set up the same but where should I check to make sure this isn't a setting difference?

In the tablet app version of iFly, you can achieve those effects by setting Plate opacity to 100% and normal colors (all white). Sounds like your other box is set to less than 100% opacity and Inverted colors.

(If you had an all white plate but no background anywhere, then you probably have "fullscreen plate" enabled.)
