Has anyone had luck using a certified GPS external antenna mounted to the outside of fuselage?

We mount the iFly 720 to the left or right side of the front windshield (suction attachment) in our Cessna 170 (high wing) an have no issue getting GPS signal. Is your issue getting signal with front mount windshield or yoke mount or sitting on your lap or panel mounted??? The last thing i want is another cord in the cockpit...

I was wondering the same thing. I have my 720 on the yoke and it appears to show "weak GPS signal" quite often when on the ground but I do not recall seeing the same message after I take off...I, too, do not want another wire in the cockpit!

Any recommendation/suggesiton is welcome.

Thanks!

All of of the ADSB devices we support also provide GPS information, and most of these are WiFi interfaced to the 720 so no extra wires. Some support an external GPS puck (SkyGuard and NavWorx come to mind).

Thanks,
Walter
