Sounds good, please let us know your outcome. I know it will work as described, I've tested it like that numerous times. Have a great week and try to get some fishing in. Might be some ice fishing by the looks of it.

Still no luck. I have a serial mini-jack cable connected to the iLevil which is then connected to a USB serial adapter running to the iFly 700. I have several different USB serial adapters and have tried them all. I get no indication that the iFly sees the iLevil. I also get no indication that it sees the USB serial adapter. I've tried various boot sequences with the iLevil on and off at boot.

If I connect the iLevil to a laptop running Windows, is there a way I can verify the serial cable setup is working? I posted this question to iLevel as well.

Is there someplace on the iFly that I can check that it recognizes the USB serial adapter?

Your iLevil might not be configured so the the aux port is active. You might want to contact iLevil to make sure the iLevil is configured correctly to output via the serial port. I believe it takes an iPad and their free App to change the iLevil configurations,

as as for making sure the iFly sees the cable, you should be able to connect the cable and go to Menu -> About -> Connected Devices and the cable will show up there as an NMEA output controller. If you are seeing nothing in the connected device window after 10-20 seconds, it may not be recognizing the cable. If so, contact our support line and they can walk you through a port reset to ensure its the cable, not the software that not seeing the cable. I hope this helps,

From iLevil:

"You have configure the auxiliary port on the iLevil to a specific baud rate. The output default for the iLevil is 230400, but the iFly does not go that high, so we need to change it to 115200.

In order to do this, you need an iPad and an app called AHRS utility (download from the App store) Connect your tablet to the iLevil via WiFi. Open the app. Go to device config, enable configuration and under "write to memory" type "8" under address and "1152" under value, then click apply.
Write to memory: 8 1152 Apply"
I don't have an iPad or any other kind of tablet (other than the iFly), so will have to impose on a friend. Very poor product interface on the part of iLevil.

I was afraid that might be the case. I know they had discussed preconfiging the iLevil to work with the iFly via USB out of the box, but that may not have happened yet.

It's a pretty simple fix, but not easy if you do not have an iPad. It's a simple fix once you get your hands on an iPad. Let us know if you need anything else. Have a great Christmas weekend.
