Once again I believe I am having problems with the calibration of my 720 screen. It is especially true of input screens such as the flight plan. Some buttons will work, some will with some searching, some don't seem to work at all. It seems to be most acute with the large buttons in the lower right corner which is the location of the "Done" buttons. I can finally get the done button to work if I touch it at the extreme lower right corner. I also have problems with the keyboard letters on the right side being off on the low side. For example, when I touch the "U" I get a 7 and I need to touch the "J" to get a "U". I have been attempting to use the calibration screen but I just chase the little crosshairs around and it doesn't seem to take.

Interestingly enough, I don't have the same problem with the icons on the map screen.

Any ideas?

Tom,

Sounds like it is the lower right corner of the screen. If it is a Screen issue, it would behave similar on any buttons in that lower right corner. Here is a trick that you might try. Sometimes the screen can get warm and then put away with something pressing up against it.

  1. Try turning your iFly 720 on and leaving it face down on a flat surface overnight.
  2. Power it off in the morning and let it cool for about a hour.
  3. Unplug the iFly and then try calibrating it.

I've seen this help several times. If this does not work, then we probably need to look at replacing the Touch Layer. If you have already had the Touch Layer replaced, this might be covered by warranty. I'd recommend contacting our Support Team to be sure. Have a great evening.

The unit is always in the plane on the panel so it hasn't had anything other than my finger or a stylus touch the screen for a long time. I'll try that trick and let you know if it worked.

Sounds good. Keep us posted. If you leave it in the plane all the time, just be careful about extreme temperatures. I've had to do this with mine after leaving it in the plane over a very cold snap. I've started to pull it when it is going get lower than the teens, which is not common here in Texas.

That solved it. I think now I had to do this before. It has been cold here, in the 20s at times but mostly in the 30s and 40s although it stays a little warmer in the hangar so I'm not sure if the cold had anything to with the problem but perhaps the changes in the weather effected the screen. But problem solved in any case. I'm happy.

Thank you,
