Walter,
Thanks for the response. I just received the Skyradar back from Redenna. They completely updated it to the latest hardware, so it no longer uses ad hoc networking. Also, it's wifi signal is about twice as strong as it was. Unfortunately, and much to my dissapointment, the connectivity with the 720 is much worse than it was. I've managed to get to the point of seeing it's data about 3 times, but it will only last about a minute, and it shows as "idle" in the connected devices list. When I back out to the wireless settings, it is no longer connected, and won't reconnect without a reboot.
I checked the firmware rev as you suggested, and it's an F12 with the latest.
Now that the Skyradar works in infrastructure mode, I was able to confirm that the connection and data are solid and persistant with my Android phone.
Something different that I nodiced since the Skyradar update is that when in the 720 setup screen, I'll see other wireless access points (like normal). When I connect to the Skyradar, all the rest go away and never come back. After the connection to the Skyradar fails and I disconnect it as before, there are no available connections shown. Previously, once the connection failed, there would be a new, duplicate SSID for the Skyradar that I could connect to, along with all of the other local access points.
The "ad hoc" behavior, with the weak wifi, was as if the 720 would look for a better connection, and not finding any, fail to reestablish, seeing the Skyradar as a fresh connection. Now, with the new hardware, it seems as if the 720's interface is shutting down when it connects to the Skyradar.
Standing by for the solution :)
Scott
