The dynamically changing descend now at NNN feet per minute is kind of usefull.

Sometimes it pops up, other times not.

i don,t have a clue as to why it's not consistently thre as approaching final destination. Nor what, if anything I might be doing on the iFly that makes the difference.

I have seen the same thing. It seems to only work on airports in the database and at the final destination. So I have to separate my longer flights into airport to airport. I have a 700.

On the Flight Plan page, have you added 'Land Here' at the airports that you want to stop at?

Correct, the VST instrument is keyed off the Destination or "Land Here" waypoint. It will use the pattern altitude or use 1000 ft AGL if not present. I hope this helps clear up any confusion.

Earlier versions of the iFly Software did not have the "Land Here" option so make sure you have the latest 7.7.7 version on the iFly or 8.1.67 or higher on tablets. HAve a great July 4th.

Thanks Shane. One thing it did clear up is that, if I understood right, is it is giving me a descent rate to come down to pattern altitude or 1000 AGL, not runway altitude.

On thing not clear is if I don`t have a flight plan in or clear it with the ``direct to`` function, does iFly understand I intend to land at the airport I asked it to direct to? If not, that might explain why sometime I didn`t see any prompting for descent rate while inbound on a ``direct to`` function.
