They're on the sectional. Rarely busy but wouldn't want to unexpectedly encounter something at Mach .8 .
Lots of them around here in southern Oregon.

Does iFly detect and warn closing on one... Much the way it reports closing on controlled air spaces?

If not....how about adding it to the wish list?

How about MOA's?
Haven't flown near one yet so haven't noticed if iFly detects them.

iFly definitely detects MOAs, as well as any other special use airspace. I think there may be a setting about whether those are highlighted or not.

I don't think it "detects" military training routes.

Thanks Cobra,

I'd love something more definative that "don't think so."

I posted here in iFly users section guessing we get official answers here.
Could have sent a personal question to the very savvy folks in iFly support .... but figured maybe a few pilots other than me might want to hear a yes or a no on this item.

Guess I could go out and deliberatly do S-turns across a military training route and see what iFly tells, or doesn't tell, me.... but hope there's a simpler way.

This is more a user forum that AP frequently participates in than an official AP support area. You're likely to eventually get a definitive answer from AP, but not guaranteed.

If you want a prompt, definitive answer, my recommendation would be to give 'em a call and speak to someone directly.

You could also use the simulator mode of the device to fly your plane near the airspaces you're curious about and see what it does.

Alex,

Thanks for your interest in our alerts and airspace options. ComputerDoc is correct in his answer, so there is no need to use the Sim mode or go out and fly those "S" turns across a route.

Currently we do not alert you of a Military Training Route or MTR. This alert feature is not currently on our Wish-List of features, I'd be more that happy to add it to the list. Thanks for the feedback, this is a new one we've not heard requested yet.
