There are several inexpensive Bluetooth transmitters that take an analog audio input using a 3.5 mm stereo jack. They don't use USB. Here is an example:

Has anyone tried one of these for sending audio alerts from the iFly 720 to a Bluetooth-enabled headset like my Zulu?

Allan,

FYI, I would be very careful putting Bluetooth very close to a GPS. It's well documented that Bluetooth can interfere with GPS signals.

I took a Garmin Glo Bluetooth GPS and put really close to a GPS antenna, it totally masked and killed my GPS signal. You might think Glo Bluetooth GPS, Bluetooth and GPS contradicts that. However it is a problem when the Bluetooth and the GPS are not matched and engineered onto the same board.

I suspect there may be some pilots flying around that have GPS signal issues and they could probably be traced to an external Bluetooth phone. The headset is probably not the cause as Lightspeed should take care to engineer around this interference spectrum. I just thought I would pass that along as something to be aware of as it is probably not tested with GPS units.
