Does the iFly actually try to filter "non-threatening" traffic? I'm not sure that's true.

If it does, I'd definitely like an option to turn that off.

Definitely curious why folks are reporting different annunciations on the iFly compared to other in-cockpit displays like Foreflight on iPad. Some have reported discrepancies even when using the same receiver!

Since I have had an iFly and a SkyRadar for over a year and a half and have _never_ seen a single traffic alert despite routinely flying in and around busy Class B airspace, I would really like a warm-fuzzy that my system is at least _capable_ of showing me an alert, even if it's a non-threatening one.

As Jerry mentioned, I haven't seen traffic in some time. I did see a bunch around DCA last week and that's it. None around NYC! I flew close to two aircraft (formation flight) today and never saw them or other traffic on 720. They are equipped with transponders that should have allowed me to see traffic also. I flew without my WingX today as Shane asked and it made no difference and I therefore couldn't tell if it was showing traffic.

George and others,

We've asked SkyRadar for some of their traffic samples and logs so we can get to the bottom of this on the SkyRadar. Once we received them from SkyRadar, we can dig further into it. In the meantime, any additional information will help. I'm seeing the same traffic on an iPad and iFly 720 on other receivers and transceivers, but we don't have a SkyRadar D model. Thanks for your feedback and help in us getting to the bottom of this. Have a great Memorial Day Weekend.

Thanks for looking into this, Shane. I've been suspecting a problem for the last 6 months, but couldn't really say for sure until everyone else here mentioned similar results, as well as my recent flight with 5 guys using Foreflight and Stratus.

Is there a way to log the Skyradar output if I log into it with a PC? I would be more than willing to capture whatever data you need if there is a way to do it...

Thanks!
Don

Don,

Thanks for offering. I just got a new emulator and 978/1090es logs and data from Alexey at SkyRadar. Walter can use this to ree exactly what is going on here. Thanks for everyone's feedback, we'll get to the bottom of this.

FYI, I have run some tests on the Clarity and SkyGuardTWX Vision Pro and the iFly is seeing the same traffic as WingX. I truly believe it is the data stream coming from the SkyRadar as it is slightly different than the GDL90 standard.
