I am a relatively new iFly user and I did happen to notice the TOC/TOD markers, but as others have said, it is way too subtle and if the route/leg would change colors at that point or be added to the flight plan (i.e. anything to notify me it is time to start the descent/stop the climb) would be great (and intuitive and helpful and...)!

Maybe the symbol should follow the IFR Chart symbology and use a T break (or at least a short perpendicular line) for an "altitude" change?

(Since users haven't picked up on the sublties of the course line symbology, it also turns red over segments where you're too close to the ground. I've thought an overwide red would catch your attention better.)

Also, since we're talking about descent slopes. I was doing some testing using the Simulator the other day. I set the airspeed to 2000 kts to accelerate the testing. (I was testing the new 3D EFIS stuff and flying a course.) I noticed that, although the VST seems to recalculate descent rates when GS changes, the Descent Point on the Map (and the Course line on the 3D) does not seem to change/recalculate with GS changes. (This is also true if you go to the Flight Planning page and look at the Altitude Profile.)

IOW, while I was flying at 2000 kts, the VST said, "Start down now," whereas the course line was saying "No, the descent point is still way up the road, where I calculated it for 160 kts."

I think I understand iFly's logic in doing this - you plan your flight with Hi Res winds, and that's probably close enough in flight. And it's true that I've never noticed this "issue" in a descent.

But it could be a factor if you've throttled back a lot in a low fuel situation. So perhaps iFly should recalculate the Descent point every 15 minutes or so and adjust the FP Altitude profile for the remainder of the flight?

I never noticed that dark spot on the line, but my phone and tablet actually have an instrument window (vertical descent to target) that tells me at what descent rate to assume to get to my airport.

Without a comprehensive manual, there will be many other features that we have to stumble upon accidentally. 

I tried to start a thread' "Did you know IFLY could do this," but it didn't take off.

Agreed. The dot is way too subtle.
