Jerry:

Don't know if you resolved your no GPS lock situation, but here is something that resolved my issue and the same issue if my friend. We both were using LG GPAD tablets. We would see our airplane ICON just stop moving or show us back at our home airport when we tried to reverse our flight plan before heading back to our home airport.

I got "Weak GPS" or "No Lock" messages. Pulled up a satellite app to view satellites and saw none.

Go to settings>location>mode and try selecting "Device Sensors Only GPS ONLY" for your GPS Source. The other choices are...High Accuracy (GPS and Networks) and Battery saving(Network Only)

This worked for me. Might work for you.

Brian:

I sent Jerry a solution that worked for me and a friend using LG GPAD tablets. It concerns the Location settings on the tablet.

I have the same priblem.."no gps lock" on my android galaxy s7. I have used this phone with many aviation gps moving map programs and it always worked. IT DOES WORK WITH MAPS BUT NOT IFLY.

The most common cause of this is the location permission not being granted in the Android settings. It's different for each device, but typically you'll go to the main Settings app, then look for App Settings or Applications, that should lead you towards a list of installed apps, tap on iFlyGPS, then Permissions, and make sure it has both Location and Storage turned on.

Ditto to what Shaun said. For my Galaxy S7, it's under Settings > Connections > Location.  Under Location, you can select the "Locating method".  I'd bet yours is currently set to "Battery Saving", which turns off the GPS receiver.  I'd recommend setting it to "High Accuracy", but "Phone only" should also work; both of those use GPS, but "High Accuracy" supplelements GPS with other location-finding methods to give the best location possible depending on your current circumstances.
