Very nice work Brian!  Your discovery is likely reason that the "GPS Status & Toolset" app didnt report any DOP.  I also checked another app today that reports horizontal and vertical accuracy, and both fields were blank.  So either Huawei is on the cutting edge of a new standard, or they're just doing their own thing. Either way, it sounds like you've got a robust and elegant solution.  I can't wait to try it out!

Thank you!!

Jim

Hmmm.  Unfortunately, I'm still seeing the GPS problem on the Huawei M3 tablet, even with version 10.0.23.  I installed an app to log and look at the NMEA sentences, and sure enough, the GPGSA sentence is longer than standard, but does have the DOP values at the end, just as Brian indicated.  The DOP values were 1.171, 0.672, 0.959.  So the behavior I'm seeing is the same as if the fix wasn't there.  Would another verbose GPS file be helpful Brian?

Sorry it didn't work.  Please send me another ZGPS verbose log, and I'll take another stab it this ASAP.

The internal GPS on the Huawei tablet is working in today's beta version !!!  Thanks again Brian, for your persistence in working this out.

Just a few notes for anyone considering an 8.4 in. tablet...  We just completed a 6 day, 15 flight hour, 1500nm flying vacation and used the Huawei M3 (running the beta version which is soon to be released) on IFR and VFR flights.  Since Brian made iFly compatible with Huawei's non-standard GPS accuracy message, there have been no issues.  The tablet ran iFly just fine (very smooth and speedy), and we used the tablet for everything we needed on the trip, like finding restaurants, tourist attractions, weather briefings, etc.  All in all, a great tablet for the flight bag in my opinion.  $300 on Amazon.
