The FAA is worried that pilots are not flocking to get ADS-B In/Out so they are considering a $500 rebate incentive to start in the fall to get more pilots with ADS-B. So looks like I installed a bit early.

Also: I notice that when I fly with my friend that has Navworx also,we see the word "NONE" next to his aircraft and he sees the same for me. So I changed the squack code to 1300 from 1200 and he could now see my aircraft ID.

So the VFR anonymous feature works...at least with nav worx.

It doesn't sound like this may help those of us building/flying experimental aircraft. The installation must be done at an approved shop; slight must occur in a required area within xx days, etc.

That's OK, it's still going to help 20,000 owners with their TSO'd ADS-B installation. They can't give $500 to everybody.

Typical FAA move. They didn't understand the consequences they created. First they don't have approval and the money from Congress. That was why they had to wait for September.

Second most ADS-B installs came to a stop waiting for the rebate. This was supposed to speed things up, it just slowed them down.

If every Repair Station shop
