I just ran a simulation with all possible alerts turned off. I got popups for the airport zone, yellow and red buttons for terrain and obstacles. It appears that these cannot be turned off, no matter what the settings. Most of my flying is down low, near terrain, and most of my landings are off airport. I want to be able to completely disable terrain warnings.

+1, as the kids say.

Brian is compiling this feedback into our WishList document for future releases. We're always trying to move forward.

I've learned to tune out the flashing Alert symbol like I've learned to tune out flashing web ads. So I never see it. Still, I suppose a button is needed to call up old, dismissed Alerts?

People who learn to tune out alerts designed to attract attention are usually the ones who land gear up with the light on and horn blaring.

I don't think they're the same thing. Web ads, and the current iFly flashing alert icon, are ubiquitous and often unimportant. Lots of "falsing." Whereas gear horn hardly ever happens, when it does it's always near the ground, and you know it's not false. On top of that, there's only one type of gear warning, we know what it is, and we train to react to it. (And lights AND horn, to get your attention while you're flying. Whereas with iFly, you have to have your head down to see the alerts and might miss them if you're flying.)

Now, if iFly alert icons were few and far between (truly calling out an immenent threat) and always obvious, and with voice annunciation, I wouldn't become conditioned to ignoring them.

In our Glasair, I built a circuit (wrote about it in KITPLANES) that verbally calls out out of range conditions. (Like, low oil pressure, low fuel pressure, etc.). In 4000 hours, it's only alerted a few times. So it's always gotten my attention.
