Is there an easy method to backup flight plans, home-made waypoints, and etc. from one device to the other? Copying the files over is NOT easy on Android; it is a real pain in the patoot. (Thank you google.)

There is not currently a way to sync user-configured data or settings across devices through the iFly software--you have to do it via file copying. AP has been working on a cloud-based method of doing what you're asking for, but it's not available yet.

If your Android devices use an external SD card and iFly is configured for external storage, it's quite easy to copy the files from one card to another.

Even if you don't use external storage, it's still easy to copy things across devices using your Google Drive as an intermediary. Use a file manipulation tool like ASTRO or Solid Explorer.

Thank you.

Blake, we are working on a way to store this data in the "Cloud" and allow syncing to other devices. Until then, you may be out of luck. Android stores these state and settings files with the app, which it considers "private", so is not accessable via normal browsing.

Flight plans are stored in the data/iFly.GOS/files/iFly/#FlightPlans folder (if you save to the external SD that will be prefaced by the external sd data path, ie: /mnt/sdcard_ext/Android, or similar). This is easily copied off to another device (bluetooth, wifi direct, or using an intermediary computer).

Sadly settings and user waypoints are stored in app storage (this is a sandboxed storage dedicated to each app and cannot easily be accessed by other apps). If your tablet is rooted, you'll find the files in /data/data/iFly.GPS/files/iFly/Assets

I use Total Commander to browse my tablet and synchronize ultimate. Each time I walk into my house and my tablet detects my home network it automatically syncs my tablet to my computer. One of the many folders it synchronizes is iFly waypoints, flightplans, tracks and logs (which I use for certain reporting requirements). Also syncs my music and pictures :)

Security will always be in direct opposition to convenience (ever experience having to unlock your front door while carrying groceries and having drunk too much coffee?). However, any security can be overcome. Just be aware of the risks you take, messing with these folders can be dangerous to your health.

I don't get what my signature is supposed to mean, I'm not famous, I'm not a star and we certainly aren't married.
