I just downloaded the iFly iPad application to try. I'm beginning to think that it will work for me to get ADSB on both the 720 & iPad. My question is: Can I orient the map 180 deg so that the charging port is on the top of the iPad instead of the bottom? It's not very convenient to have the cord pointed at your body and looped around to the charge connector in the airplane. It would be better for me to have it pointed away. Thanks Bob

I was surprised when I tried to "flip" it, for the same reason ---- my WingX and Foreflight allow any orientation, which I do use to get the charging port at the 12 o'clock position (iPad II).

I know the iPad has a lock position that will prevent the screen flip, if invoked --- maybe the iFly is doing this automatically?

By the way -- the iFly software/maps are soooooo much sharper than either the Foreflight or WingX --- all I use now.

I just tried it with our iPad Mini - APOA's FlyQ EFB rotates the same as other apps - just turn the iPad and it rotates, all orientations work. I cannot get iFly to rotate at all - is there a menu setting that I'm missing? It will only display in portrait mode, power cord down.

I have found the same thing. North Up and Track up reference the top, no rotation in map mode. If you display a plate or airport diagram, there is a "button" with 4 steps of 90 degrees of rotation.

I does appear the app stops the iPad's normal rotation when you change orientation. I would think that is to prevent the iPad from switching the display due to control motion when used on a yoke mount. I think that is a good thing. My mini will change orientation when changing from holding it vertical and then laying it down on a table.

These comments do bring up the question of "are you working on landscape mode for IPAD and/or ANDROID iFLY
installations" ?
If so when is a reasonable time frame to expect them?
Les

Sorry for the orientation error.
