thought i would pass along a tip to everyone . I spent some time trying to figure out how to hear the alert /caution sounds or any music from my 720( Being that mine is flush mounted and the speakers are covered .)
I tried connecting it to my intercom via audio input which works but you cannot hear audio when transmittin or recieving .
I found this neat little speaker for $20.00 at target which is charged up by usb cable and using the 3.5 mm audio cable connected to the ifly gps . the speaker has a 3.7 watt amp thats run by a lithium ion rechargeable battery and is VERY LOUD and lasts 10+ hours . I tested it and it puts out a bit over 105 DB The unit stands about 3 inches tall and can be opened to 5 inches tall exposing more sound . The unit is 3 inches in diameter No need to have it plugged in when using it aside from the 3.5 mm audio cable . . Its portable weighs only 3 ounces and will not interfere with any avionics systems .( not placing it near the compass :) When not flying it works great on notebooks, tablets , ipads iphones and any device using a 3.5 headset jack
