I've been having some problems with updates lately and not sure what is going on. I'm using a USB drive that has had no issues prior to this in the same computer I've been using all along but I keep getting a message that the update has failed due to exception ICsharpcode......cannot find central directory.....

I am not doing anything different than I have before and I always use the safely remove hardware setup prior to taking the USB drive out. Its getting a bit painful to spend an hour and a half to upload the update only to find it won't work. I'd rather use the update direct to the SD card but I don't have internet explorer on this computer and won't install it. Can we use firefox or google chrome to do this???

Thanks
Frank

Have you tried "iFly Connect"? Download it from the "Updates" tab above and follow the install instructions. It updates directly to the SD card without involving a browser. It's by far the easiest way to update (not counting the 720's wireless update ability!). Once installed, it's just a matter of sliding in the SD card and kicking off "iFly Direct".

iFly Connect works fine with Firefox. :-)

John and all,

Just to be clear.

Installing iFly Connect for the first time will require using Internet Explorer. Please be sure you are not using FireFox when clicking to download and install iFly Connect. Once it is installed, you do not need a browser at all. Just go to Programs, Adventure Pilot and iFly GPS. There you will see the iFly Connect option.

FYI, Once installed, I'd right click and send a shortcut to the desktop. This way you just have to insert the SD card and click the shortcut. It doesn't get easier that this.

Sorry 'bout that Shane, I use Firefox as default and didn't remember that I had to use IE for the initial install. Thanks for keeping me honest.
