Hi all,
I have been looking at the two units and trying to decide between them. From looking at the website, I gather the following.
720: Tolerates direct sunlight, internal battery, uses wifi to update and maybe conect to external units, has streets included in price.
700: Less expensive.
To be clear, the "internal battery" for the 720 is sized to allow the unit to survive brief (~5ish seconds) power outages, as opposed to the 700 which can reset from a power glitch lasting only a few milliseconds.
Also, the 720's wi-fi does, in fact, allow it to connect to external devices (specifically, the Skyradar ADSB receiver).
Finally, the 720 does have a somewhat faster internal processor and more internal memory, which may eventually allow it to support more features/capabilities than the 700 (though as of today, that is not the case).
