I just placed my order and indeed the full discount is not YET shown, nevertheless, the letter received from Radenna and posted in this forum clearly stipulates that the transaction will either take place at the discounted price (831 and change) or will not take place at all and we will not be charged, so as far as I am concerned, I will trust their written word and wait for the 15 requests (or more) to be processed by early next week.

Let's do it, this unit seems to give us good value for the money and time; it's capable of receiving traffic information if there are transmitters in the area (as in commercial airliners), a feature some other units don't offer. I would speculate that later they will come up with a matching transmitter...

The NavWorx PADS600 receiver seems like a good deal too if you qualify for the factory rebate (Oshkosh 2011 buyers give or take), but bear in mind that their product cannot receive traffic even with nearby transmitters operating, and appears not to have remote GPS antenna capability, at least judging from the picture in the web page, therefore if must sit on the dashboard. The extra $140 we pay for Radenna buys us the ability to hide the unit under the panel and receive traffic information in areas where commercial traffic is present, for example Class B and C airspaces; that's the value proposition. Finally, NavWork is still vaporware since the unit has not yet been fully tested by Ifly, Radenna is a reality.

I have no relationship or special interest with either company, what I have is the desire to have weather and some traffic in my GPS ASAP.

Regards,

JTB

Ok, everyone, I've placed my order as well.

Yes, it only reflected a $1.00 discount at point of purchase, but I trust SkyRadar's fairness. It is a very reasonable offer, and I hope enough of you take advantage of it for the deal to stick.

I happened to attend a mini-seminar earlier today on using the Garmin 530-W, and couldn't help smiling to myself when I saw what those "lucky" guys have to do to inject an "intersect Victor airway 53" type of request into their pre-programmed flight plan as a sudden change. It was a nightmare of poke, stab, twist, calculate angle in your head, etc. By coincidence I had my iFly700 with me, and fired up, so I tilted it so the guy next to me could see, and showed him how to do it on mine: poke, drag course line, drop.Done. His eyes popped, and he mouthed "Wow!" at me. I can get used to this.

Now, how about a dozen or so more of y'all add current text weather, radar, and the occasional traffic alert to this fine system, saving a neat $120 or so while you're at it? You'll be glad you did. :-)

Yup, I did mine with the one dollar coupon and trust Radenna will honor the group price - we must be about half way there now...olh boy, oh boy...new airplane toy!

I placed my order just now. Here's hoping we get 15! I also spread the word on the AVSIG aviation forum.
