This is a follow up to my installation. I have had numerous flights since the install of both new units. Unfotunately, I have not had a good camera to snap a picture until a day my wife went along and took the attached picture of my installation. I would like to report that everthing has worked great so far and I am very pleased with the traffic, weather and NOTAM updates that I get while in flight. You cannot believe how many aircraft at a distance you are aware of now with the units that before you could not see. When you are all closing in on a non-towered airport as we were one day, I could see five other aircraft coming to the airport. As we all closed in, I had them on the screens before they or I could see each other. It really helps in locating aircraft at non-towered airports as you close in especially if there are several others coming at the same time. I have attached a picture of the panel in my Skyhawk. i hope the picture loads correctly.

Hi! Flybaby, this exactly the set up I want for my Cherokee 180, could you tell me how much did you ended up paying for it, and where did they do it, I live in California, so I can compares pricing, and finaly how long did it take, to have all if any bugs, worked out, I have inquire here but they NEVER return my Calls, As a matter of fact the listed L3 dealer at my own airport would only cater to 'Fleets' I guess I am too small of a fish

Thanks in advance

Hello Ciao, N5380L,

I purchased mine from Steiner Aviation which is one of the electronics shops on the field at KCAK. I got in when Lynx was offering a very good rebate. Total came in at a little over 8k if I remember right. (That included the iFly 740 replacing my700)  I chose the Lynx 9000 because it was a direct panel replacement for my old transponder and it featured everthing I wanted. Steiner did run into one communication/WIFI issue at first and when I talked with Shane, he advised that Steiner talk with Lynx. After speaking with Lynx, they had the plane brought back in and within a workday I had it back . I think Steiner Aviation did a great job and I would recommend them to anyone local or out-of-town for such an installation. The Lynx unit has proved so far to be a great unit and supports the iFly 740 very well. Both together are just about all you need as they provide just about everything units costing in 25-30K range do especially for VFR. I have heard and read about owners having the remote mount units installed and they ended up with problems and paying way more do to installation costs. I wanted it clean, simple, and as error free as possible.

Good luck with your installation. Again, together they are a great set up.

Bob
