No worries, this can be done currently... We are just looking to expand this with our Planner, WiFi sync and Cloud Accounts.

Simply build your Flight Plan on your favorite online planner, AOPA is great and I think it will support GPX export. Your online planner needs support the export of a GPX or KML file.

Then you can put that file on a USB thumb drive for the iFly dedicated device or also on the SD card in the User->#FlightPlans folder for both iFly and Android devices..

I can confirm that the AOPA flight planner exports as GPX.

Hi again Shane.

I got this reply, below, on the AOPA feedback page.
Does it suggest an opportunity to have AOP do some of the development work to have some of their tools handle integration with IFly?

The Flight Planner can currently export a GPX file. Save your route, click on the Route menu item, click on Send to and then select Export (GPX). See screenshot below.

As far as a direct integration with iFly GPS, we have contacted them several times so they should be aware that the capability of integration with our flight planner exists. We suggest that users of iFly GPS contact the manufacture directly and also ask for this capability. Sometimes hearing from their customers can help move things along. We (AOPA) are willing to work with any EFB product that wants to integrate with us."

Hi Alex,

Not really, we'll need to do the footwork from our side to accept a file from them into our app.

I'm a little confused. We do support importing a GPX file from AOPA and other planners on our dedicated devices such as the iFly 520, 720, 740. We've worked with AOPA on this before and there is nothing else really needed.

We simply have to add this capability to the App now. The development is done for reading the GPX file. We just need to seemlessly get that GPX file into the iFly GPS App, via a cloud, push, email, transfer, etc. This is the part that we are working on for a future release. Not really much they can offer for us until the time comes.

I'm slightly rubbed the wrong way by Eric's response. This would be the first I've heard of them reaching out to us for development efforts. I've contacted them numerous times as their prior FlyQ planner actually omitted the GPX export option and I stressed to please bring it back.

It is on our development list, and we will get it added. Please have a little patience.

Hi Shane,

you write , in part...

Understood. Was just passing it on FWIW....in case there _were_ some missed opportunities.

i'm patient. Appreciate all you do. 😄
