An email announcement would have been a nice touch...

Anyway, I am downloading now to my iPad 2 (wifi), should be done early next week :)

I have some reservations about touch screen use, like the iPad has. I have used it for about 2 years in my car along with the Dual 150 GPS. A drawback with the touch screen is inadvertent contact results in unwanted extensions

Can't say enough good things about the Dual GPS! It acquires quickly and hold well. Internal battery use is about 8 hours but I normally have it connected to the car battery.

It also has a switch allowing it to work with iPxx products as well as others via Bluetooth. But always check the Dual Site before assuming it will work with your specific device!

I think my iPad along with this app will make a nice supplement to my flight bag.

Jim,

We sent out a full email to nearly 10k emails, complete with images, features, and more. We used your email on file, looks like your "embarqmail" account. Sorry you didn't receive it, you might want to make sure we have your correct email on your account profile.

I've receive a slew of comments from that email, so I'm positive it went out succesfully. You might also check your spam folder.

Your download shouldn't take to long, no need to download the entire country if you don't need it. We take a fairly small footprint and a fraction of the download time of our competitors. What's your Wi-Fi internet connection speed?

We've taken strides to keep those skipping taps from tossing you off the screen. I think you will find iFly GPS was planned for the bumpy cockpit. Have a great weekend.

I've been thinking seriously of getting an iPad mini with retina display and built-in GPS. My question is what size do I need to get for running your app...............16gb, 32gb, etc. Maybe a better question would be: How much space does your app require?

Thanks, Jim

Jim,

You should be able to put the entire country and more on the 16gb. A full load is about 6-7GB, inlcuding IFR and RealView. But you don't really need to keep the entire country, we've added a really cool update page that is Map detailed. I'll put a picture below. We even make is simple to remove data. As you can see by the image, the 6 states selected with all VFR and IFR is about 1.5 GB. A 16 GB will be plenty if you don't chose a lot of states or want to put pictures or movies on it.

I personally would go for the 32 GB, just because you might want to have other stuff and you can't add memory to iPads like you can with Androids. Keep in mind a 16 GB iPad only has about 12 GB of usable space after you account tof the OS.

Thanks Shane. Good point about going with the 32gb.

I've been reading up on the 720 features and have a question I'll post separately.

Jim
