Great decision ! On a personal note as someone whose flown to 1800 rvr using HGS (hud)commercially . I set personal minimums when flying my own plane ...a single . I am sure fellow ifly users have there own personal minimums and will never have to worry about 0 visibility approaches . Personally if I dont have loc minimums with a functioning ILS I stay home .:) I appreciate the fact you opened this discussion to us . It speaks volumes about support and your product !

Ditto! The ability for customers to directly dialog with the staff at AP really sets you guys way apart! I've got a problem with a cable modem on Comcast right now, and I'm really not sure whether the issue is Comcast's or Motorola's. Either way, it doesn't matter...despite this being a widespread problem affecting multiple users who are posting about it on a popular A/V website, these two monolithic monstrosities are either unaware or utterly unconcerned about our plight. How refreshing to have such a direct line of communication between customers and company with the iFly--thanks, AP!!

From time to time I enjoy downloading my flight tracks and viewing them with Google earth. The addition of WAAS will make the results even more impressive when zoomed in to airport / taxiway level! The biggest improvement track history previously was the increase in resolution, that made a huge difference when zoomed in.

Thanks Walter!

David

"Amen" to all the foregoing kudos to Walter and AP for leaning toward activating WAAS in the future. I see it's biggest value is in marketing more iFly units. One thing that I am wondering about is the assertion that an external antenna is required. I have an ancient 11-yr old Gxrxm 295 that uses WAAS without an external antenna. Is the iFly internal antenna that much less sensitive that it would require an active external antenna? And as far as aquisition time goes, the old 295 acquires first w/o WAAS and is ready to navigate with simple 3-D or 4-D accuracy; then a minute or two later the WAAS accuracy is achieved. In this way the user sees no delay in acquiring satellites and being ready to navigate. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't give up my 720 for anything, and certainly not for the 295, but it just seems like these two things are not issues even with that much older technology. Just some thoughts. === Ralph
