Keeps locking up

I just downloaded the new software ver 7 and have had the system lock up on me every time. I get the intro splash screen followed by the egg timer then it states loading software and maps then Blank!!

Pit then takes numerous tries to even turn the system on. I get a faint grey screen that shows me power is flowing but nothing else. The battery is fully charged with 4 green lights.

Any suggestions? Anyone else having this problem or is it only me?

I had the same problem. I was impatient and did not wait for the geographic and navaid data bases to fully load before I canceled the download. So I went back and waited for them to download and canceled when it started to load a new sectional. The new version then came up fine and it is awesome!

Hmmm, I thought I allowed the full download of the software and weather and specific charts. I will try and reload again

Ok I have fixed the problem, thanks to Henrysamson.

The trick to downloading is to fully download the geographic and navaid along with the software before updating charts etc. Took over 10 mins on a fast wifi system.

Good luck.if you get frozen like I did as soon as starting get to the update button and try and reload the software/geographic and Navaid databases

At the top of the Updates webpage, it says:

Please note: When updating your iFly to the newly released version 7 software, you must select the Aviation Databases and Geographic Databases options. Version 7 software is not compatible with version 6.x or earlier databases.
