Hi,

I've been using IFG for several years now and like it a lot.

The one thing I wish it did was keep a (somewhat automated) logbook, as I'm kind of lazy about keeping up my own.

I was happily surprised to see in the EFB feature comparison sheet that "Logbook" is "Full" implementation. (https://www.iflygps.com/iFly-GPS/EFB-Market-Comparison)

However, I cannot find it in the app, and the only reference I've found is a short one to MyFlightBook in the user manual, which, I surmise, is a separate application.

Am I missing something?  The feature comparison seems a little misleading if not.

Any advice on whether and how to use MyFlightBook, if that's the only option?

Thanks in advance,

Steve Whitney

iFly does not currently have its own built-in logbook feature.  However, it does integrate with MyFlightbook.

FWIW, MyFlightbook is a fantastic electronic logbook, and it is free.  I have been using it for years, and I don't really use the iFly integration at all.  I just run MyFlightbook on my phone.  I've got a line in my checklist to launch MFB and tap "Engine Start", then I don't do anything else with it until engine shutdown, when I tap "Engine Stop", adjust the ending Hobbs (Tach) time, and click "Save Flight".  (I usually review/revise details after I get home, to add notes, make sure total time, night time, etc. is recorded correctly, etc.)

Whether you use the iFly integration or not MFB is a fantastic logbook app.  I highly recommend it.

Ditto on everything Cobra said.  I've also been using it for years, and even if iFly created their own, I'd still use it.  I would also throw in that even though it's free, if you find it to be useful you should donate a small amount to the developer.
