Not exactly sure why it's "awesome" that his problem still exists...
One thing that's not clear to me: It sounds like you're doing this testing on the ground, perhaps at home. When you saw the system work before, was that also at home, or was that in the aircraft?
In general, it's not a good expectation that your Stratux (or any ADSB device) wil pick up a good signal on the ground. The exception is at airports with on-field ADSB towers, or at least a tower that is *very* close by.
If you're at home and set your Stratux somewhere where it has a clear view of the sky, and there are planes overhead (i.e., within line-of-sight of your Stratux), then you might expect to get traffic signals direct from them. You could use a site like FlightAware.com to show you traffic in your area and you could compare that to what you're receiving.
But the better test would be to get your plane up to a good altitude and see if Menu > About > Connected Devices... shows an incrementing heartbeat counter, indicating that the Stratux is receiving data from a tower, then see if that page is indicating any traffic targets, then see if those targets are appearing on the map.
