Questions for Adventure Pilot:

Background: I recently purchased an iFly 740b. I have a multi-platform VFR data subscription. I just received an email from Adventure Pilot announcing that the next iFly version will have a new “automatic routing” feature to be debuted at Sun-N-Fun with a full release sometime thereafter.

My questions are:

(1) Will this new iFly version be compatible with the 740b?

(2) Will this new iFly version be provided to existing iFly customers for free, or will there be an upgrade charge?

There has never been a charge for the iFly software. AP generates revenue through the data subscriptions.

I can't speak with authoirty on whether the software will run on the 740b, but that's a relatively recent model so I would expect that it would.

Historically, AP constantly improves the program and adds features without a price increase. Then, as time goes on, they reach the point they need a price increase. Since they just increased prices, I would expect this will be added for free, but that's just a guess on my part.

This feature will not have an additional charge, and it will be compatible with the 740b and 700. However probably not available on the 720/700/520 models as there is a significant memory requiement that those devices may not accomodate.
