Thanks Cobra. My knowledge of the X mount is limited. The Tab-Tite seems a little more accommodating. Although it looks funky, when I used it with my full size iPad 3, it also fit my 8" and 7" tablets.

Yes, I saw that, and as I mentioned, my other Richter mount IS really tight. The one on the iFly is a loose click, not a solid click.

Just to make sure, did you see Walter's post a couple above yours? I don't have a 740 so am not familiar with it's ball mount, but Walter says it should click when fully seated and not be loose, but that the mechanism is tight enough that it can be tough to get that full engagement when new:

I recently tried one of these ProClips, and it works pretty darn well. Maybe iFly could start stocking these as well.

I did have to use spacers under the ProClip to allow the 740b to tilt farther without hitting the panel. The only other issue with the Richter mounting is that the 740b has raised areas of hte case where the speakers are. Those are just under the edge of the mounting plate, so they keep the plate from sitting flat against the back of the case. I'm probably going to try to put some thick tape on the case to shim the low spots to stop the wobble.
