Weather is on an independent map mode. Traffic is automatically overlayed on every mode - sectionals, low-enroutes, etc.

The little plane does appear on the weather chart. The purple line showing the flight plan is also there. I think it doesn't show up in the image Walter posted because he doesn't have GPS lock (see the red box in the image).

Walter is probably not using live ADS-B weather data but instead has some recorded data that he can feed into the iFly. To get live data he'd have to be in the air where he can receive the ADS-B signal and it is difficult to develop GPS software whlle flying the plane.

Would it be possible to have this an overlay on the other maps?

I'm not sure about the others, but I never use the vector mode, it's always looking at 1 map or another. In an ideal world, I'd like to have everything overlayed on top of the maps and be able to toggle them off if I need to read the map.
