Also, just noticed that ETE and fuel used does change when I reverse the plan, but altitude still stays at 2500.

I just created a flight plan from Atlanta to Dallas. It optimized to 12000 feet, which appeared correct based on the winds Aloft arrows. Then I reversed the route and optimized it, and it optimized to 3000 feet which again looked correct for the winds Aloft arrows.  So from what I can tell, mine is working correctly.   If you'll tell me what airports you are using, I'll try those and see what I get. I'm using an Android.

Silly question.  Did you download the winds aloft?

Just spitballing here, but those numbers actually look correct for the legs you mentioned.  [EDIT: And iFly also chose 2,500 for me when set to VFR].  iFly has a max altitude in the aircraft performance, but not a min.  I bet you're set for VFR, and iFly assumes 2,500 is a valid altitude for this flight.  According to the winds aloft, that's actually an "acceptable" (not to me!) altitude for those two legs you mentioned.  When I set mine to IFR, it then chose 3,000 and 4,000 for the trips up and back.  iFly doesn't factor in things like drag, minimum safe altitudes, etc. - only what altitude works best for the winds.  Maybe some day it can be tweaked to account for some more variables.

Well, I played around some more. Threw in several different points all across the country. Every leg was between 2500 and 3500 forward and reverse. So, I cleared the app cache in Android. Same thing. I cleared cache and data. Same thing. I finally uninstalled the app completely, reinstalled it, logged in, downloaded my saved cloud items, and all works good now. Altitudes show best winds all the way up to the aircraft max in settings.

Have no clue what was causing it. Its never happened before.
