Under no circumstances should you be staring at the TV while in the traffic pattern.

I've just secured a reseller and partnership with uAvionix this past week for the Ping products. We'll be offering the Ping Buddy in the next week or so, and then we may even have a smaller non wi-fi option to work with the 700, 520 and even as a remote antenna for the 720 and 740. Stay tuned, I think you guys are going to like this one.

These are ADS-B receivers, but they make great compliments to an existing ADS-B out only install as well as a great source of free Weather. Traffic will be limited, unless you have the "Out" to ping the ground station... no pun intended.

I recently (last week) had the L-3 NGT2000 installed in my Cherokee. L-3 is a major avionics company (stormscope). They are currently running a special that they will match the price of any FAA approved adsb out system. I showed L-3 the ad for Navworx so they matched it. I considered Navworx due to their low cost but had read about potential problems. I had a lot more confidence in any system from L-3. I have a 430W nav/com and a garmin 327 transponder. The installation was supposed to be a "no brainer" but there were a number of communication problems which the installer had to work out with L-3. I'm glad I had a "fixed price" from the dealer. I think my installation pointed out to installers that there may be a number of pitfalls in installing any adsb out system that must talk to other components. Of course, I could have gone with with the high dollar unit from L-3 (NGT9000) which is a completely self contained system--for about $9000...

This sounds great Shane. I sold my Arrow about 14 months ago and the skyGuard is just not convenient for using in a rental aircraft. This Ping Buddy looks great. Since the aircraft I fly with the club that purchased my old Arrow have ADS-B out this would make a great low cost small footprint device.

I may give it a try, and I am awaiting some more pireps on it.
