Correct. NOOBS is one of many variants of Linux that will run on a Pi. You overwrote NOOBS with Debian, another popular variant that the developers chose to develop Stratux with. If you learn to SSH into the Pi (which is not a requirement to use Stratux), you'll see that there are a LOT more Linux files on that disk, written in another partition, that the Windows computer doesnt/cannot see. That's also where you'll find the log files and other system files.

Also realize that any customizations are lost with each new image copy.

Great, thanks. I don't plan to do anything else with the Raspberry but play around with Stratux. As long as I can always update to the latest version, I think I'll be OK. Thanks again.

I received my Raspberry Pi with two radios today. After finally getting everything to work together, I have a question or two.

I’m wondering why I can’t connect to the Stratux page with the iFly. I used 192.168.10.1 Anyone know what the problem is?

Another question is how does one shut down the Raspberry Pi before pulling power, I don’t see a menu item?

I was finally able to connect with my iPhone with 192.168.10.1 As soon as I did a pop-up popped up saying something about if I wanted to add the address to my home page. Now there appears to be an Stratux app that I can use to see all the menu items associated with Stratux. The app looks just like the Stratux home page on my phone.

Once I enabled everything on the Settings menu, I was able to see traffic, now I’m happy!

Now to order the gps and AHRS modules. Hopefully those modules will get coded soon.

There is no menu item on the web interface to shut down the Stratux. It's one of the gripes in the reddit forum. There's a request in the Code Issue page to make the SD card Read-Only. If you know how to SSH (I don't), you can issue a shut down command to the Stratux that way.

Question to iFly: There's a question in the Stratux reddit discussion page about how iFly knows to annunciate WAAS. (Because we don't know if Stratux is not enabling WAAS in GPS units or if Stratux isn't passing a WAAS flag to moving maps.) If it's not a trade secret, can you tell us how iFly knows to annunciate WAAS? I'll copy what you write to the Stratux forum.

For a quick/lazy way to issue a shutdown command, download the free "RasPi Check" app (Android). It gives you a menu where you can easily send a 'halt' or 'reboot' command, as well as creating a list of other commands to send. It also gives you a quick overview of the Pi's current health. When setting it up, the default Pi userID is pi, and the default password is raspberry.
