I'm not sure where you've mounted your Skyguard device, but since I mounted mine on my hat rack in the rear of the plane, I bought a PS2 extension cable so that I could mount the GPS on the glareshield, where it has a clear view of the sky. Just mentioning this as an option in case others have any reception issues.
