Moved this response from another thread as it had departed from the topic at hand.

You can't just COPY the iFly SDcard on the 720. Have to clone it.
Lots of Windows cloning software out there. Some free, some cheap. I think the one I used might've been called "homeclone" or something like that.
If anyone wants to know exact source of the cloning software email request of post here and I'll try to dig it up.

Not true, my friend. A copy can be made simply by copying the contents of the original SD card onto your computer, folder by folder, then copy them from the computer onto the new SD card. Works like a champ. And you can even add mp3 music files and text file checklists if you are copying to a 16GB card and have the room. Just remember Streets won't work on the duplicate card but everything else will. ====Ralph

I stand corrected, Ralph. Good to correct as for most folks copying is easier and more flexible than cloning.

I think what I was thinking of when I wrote that mistatement is that unless you use cloning software (which copies byte-by-byte) you will not be able to use the Streets software on the secondary SDcard.

I didn't think of copying music or text files onto the iFly card.
I like your idea of copying text file checklists, etc, into iFly.
I think I'might use that to put some of the things I print and put on my kneeboard in there..... such as more airport info than iFly pulls up (FBO phone numbers, ground transport, etc.)

Will it be obvious where to put the text files on the card?
And will it be obvious how to access the text files in the iFly?
(I'm not currently where I have access to either of my iFly SD cards or I'd just try it)

By the way: How are you getting music out of the iFly. Surely not just through the iFly's speaker?

Alex: 1: I kind of misspoke when I said I put text files on my 720. Actually they are pdf files which were created from the text files using Word. There should be a folder named "PDF" on your SD card that contains the PDF reader app. Copy your pdf files into that PDF folder. Give each PDF file a name that will let you easily recognize the contents.
2. To access them boot your 720 then launch the navigation app. Open the main "MENU" and you will see a menu choice for "View PDF File(s)". Select that bar and you will see a listing of all the PDF files you loaded onto the SD card. It's that simple.
3. Although the music can be listened to using the 720 speakers, in the cockpit I have my 720 connected to the Entertainment input jack on my intercom (PM-2000) so I hear the tunes through my headset. Use the "EAR' jack on the 720 and a standard patch cord with male plugs on each end, purchased at Radio Shack. My PM-2000 automatically mutes the music when there is chatter on the COMM radio, so I don't miss any radio traffic. By the way, with this set-up I also can hear in my headset all the alerts and warnings from the 720 nav app as well. Personally I find the music distracting in terminal areas and only play it during cruise portions on longer cross-country flights, anyway
Enjoy! ====Ralph

Can you store music on the SD card? If so, which folder do you use? Can you listen to music while using the IFly to navigate or is this a standalone application?

Kent: Yes, music can be stored on the SD card (i.e., MP3 files). Copy the MP3 files into the "Music" folder - I even created separate sub-folders for various genre. Yes, you can listen to your tunes while navigating. Launch the music app from the main root menu and then launch the Navigation app. If you check out the on-line user manual "Extra Features" section it'll tell you how to do it. See my post above, too, for playing through your intercom. Enjoy. ===Ralph

My card does not have a music folder. Could you post the complete path of that folder? The documentation was a little confusing in that it mentioned having music on a USB thumb drive but no mention of the SD card.
