Tim: You just missed my PowerPoint presentation to the Richmond Air Force guys at KRID on my trip to Alaska from Ohio in a Tri-Pacer. Also, I just finished reading a neat book on making that trip from Ohio. It is "14 Days to Alaska", by Troy Hamon. eBook ISBN: 978-1-59433-290-6; ISBN 978-1-59433-275-9. Troy spoke at our SWPC convention in Saratoga Springs, NY last month so I bought the book and found it is a good read. He makes the trip as a new student pilot with his brother instructing him en route, in frigid October, no less. Incidentlly, I was showing off my iFly 720 to the guys at the SWPC convention and the Canadian guys asked me to enter Canadian airport identifiers and to my surprise all the ones they asked for populated the flight plan. Just no map background, so it's a little like flying in Vector mode. Personally, I would rather have the obstruction/terrain database for that part of Canada than the sectional charts, if I had to choose one over the other. ====Ralph
