Admittedly, there's not a lot of need for this idea. But it's another one of those little polish things that could set iFly apart from the competition.

I'm guessing that 50% of us fly from from Point A to B and then back again. (The $100 hamburger, a day trip somewhere, etc.) So you load your flight plan and fly from A to B.

Now, even without a GPS running, iFly knows where you last were when you fire it up again for what might be the return trip home. It sees that you're at Point B. So, if you leave your previous Flight Plan loaded, how about if iFly offers to automatically reverse it for you? (This would be for simpler flight plans (VFR) that didn't have a DP in the plan.) I imagine a dialog box asking "Reverse your current Flight Plan?" Yes/No. (If you said "No," then maybe "No" would take you to the FP page for your next leg then, 'cause answering "No" and leaving the FP alone doesn't make much sense.)

I could support this if it's an easy programming task. On the other hand, I wouldn't spend much time on it since it's very easy to tap flight plan then reverse.

I don't like the auto-reverse idea. There's a perfectly obvious switcheroo button right at the top of the FP page. If you want to reverse your route, it's three button clicks: Flight Plan, Reverse, Done. Much better than when that feature was hidden under the "More options" button. Works great.

What I don't want is to play "50 questions" when iFly starts up. I imagine the Clippy icon from days of yore popping up: "Oh, you've restarted me since landing at the airport? Would you like to fly back to where you came from?" No, Clippy, shut up--I want to look at the weather picture or gas prices right now. "No? Okay, I'll take you to the flight plan page, since there's no other reason you could possibly be turning me on right now." #@$% Clippy, get out of my way and let me see the #@!% map!!!

The one bit of artificial intelligence I would like to see incorporated into the flight planner is when starting a new plan, try to guess the starting point. If iFly can detect that it's at an airport (maybe by using the same logic it uses to automatically switch to RealView mode), then offer that automatically as the Departure point for new flight plans. Otherwise, start with a blank page.

Cobra, thanks for the feedback.

BTW, iFly should already detect your departure location if you are on (or very close to) an airport.

Walter, are you saying that iFly should be "auto-loading" (or "Auto-offering") the Departure Airport as the first entry in the Flight Plan page? If yes, it's never done that for me. (Android version.)
