One thing I'd like to see is a more robust city search. Say I have to fly for a meeting in Orland Park, IL tomorrow, which has no airport of it's own. I'd like to be able to quickly type "Orland Park, IL" and have it return a list of nearby airports and fixes, likely sorted by distance so I could quickly and easily do some pre planning.

I understand that it may be a difficult task to store so much data locally (though it is possible for like a portable car gps), but even if the option were available while connected to the internet before leaving, it would be really helpful.

Noted for the Wish List. This has been a bit of a sore spot with us as it is more difficult than thought of. The FAA does not force an airport to be listed in the database under the actual city location. It may not even be in a neighboring city, but a large metro many miles away.

Many smaller city airports are listed under large cities. Example our own airport McKinney Nation is listed in the database under Dallas, TX, 30 miles away, not McKinney. This is actually pretty common as they try to leverage themselves to get more commercial metro traffic.

I'm sure there is some logic that can be improved here and we'll dig into it for a future release consideration. Thanks for the suggestion.

Why not just look at the sectional and see what airports are close to your destination? Lewis University Airport looks like a good prospect for you. - Jim Williams

A quick and dirty way to do this now (well maybe not so quick), is to put your destination in the center of the screen and tap menu / About / Start Simulation Mode. Then you can tap the NRST button, and the closest airports are listed.

I agree. I would not want to see IFly loaded up with a bunch of non-aviation data and information. If you're going some place you have no idea where it is and there is no airport, google it or use you cell phone GPS to figure out where it is. Then, look at a sectional for near-by airports. The more information and data that is added increases storage requirements, download time, and processor demand.

I just flew 4 hours today from Atlanta to Fort Lauderdale with a friend. I was using IFly on an IPad Mini 4 and he was using FltPlan on an IPad Mini 2. IFly is so much more intuitive and easy to operate, there was no comparison.
