I was excited about hearing about the program above, but alas $90/year if you want to export. I haven't found a free program to export .gpx. I used the old AOPA planner a lot with the export feature with my Skyview - very convenient. AOPA's "upgrade" of their online planner was abysmal. How this "passed" is beyond me. They have slowly worked through some of the bugs (many) but it is still horrible to use - scroll/zoom and wait 10 seconds while the screen refreshes, etc. - and I believe they have been at this for almost a year now.

I called to inquire about the export feature coming back and the person I talked with had no info and, honestly, didn't seem to care to want to assist me. I emailed several times since about it and have NEVER received a reply to any email. The pessimist in me thinks they are purposefully keeping it crappy to push folks toward their app...

Will think hard when my renewal comes due...

Seattle Avionics partnered with AOPA on their FlyQ EFB, so I assume that they may involved with the on line version as well. The CEO of Seattle Avionics is Steve Podradchik <StevePo@seattleavionics.com> He was very responsive to a friend of mine concerning the FlyQ EFB not being compatible with his Appareo Stratus ADSB. Maybe he could shed some light on your concern?

I hear you, just about every FlyQ user is equally unhappy, but in AOPA's defense, I don't think they made the change because they thought the new system was better--I think they made it because they got (or were about to get) slapped with a lawsuit.

Read about this several days ago - apparently these guys are out to sue everyone. I used the AOPA online flight planner since 2004. Not sure about it back then, but before the change, it was a Jeppesen product I believe. Also I only used the export feature the last couple years - not sure when that was added.

I think the charts used by the old planner were Jepp products. I don't know that Jepp had anything to do wtih the software driving the planner, though.
