I am not having any luck with WIFI updates for my i720 (updated to .20). When I go to update the system via my home WIFI, it will download one or two files, and then continuously time out on anything from there. I"ve been trying for the past 3 days with no success. I've tried doing updates from the main startup screen before loading the navigation software, as well as trying an update from within the navigation program.

I don't see any way this is an issue with my router or wifi. I use it all the time for other purposes with no issue.

I had the exact same problem about a month or two ago. A firmware update from Ed fixed it. BUT caused Wifi connection issues. If I had it to do again, I'd hold off on the newer firmwares until they fix the Wifi and just update the SD card directly with ifly connect. I'm stuck now using public wifi or ifly connect for my updates

I too have connection issues with my 720 and my wireless N router which is optomized for wireless N devices. Oddly enough, it connects just fine with my wireless G router. Not sure if there's a clue there; just thought I'd mention it.

Jeff,

Give our support department a call so we can see what OS or Firmware you have. Also, many of the new N or A Routers have an option for 5gHz only. You may want to make sure you have yours set to (N,G, B modes), if it has that option. I know mine won't connect the a 5gHz N network but will to a 2.4gHz N network. Call us when you can.

It isn't a question of connecting to the network -- my machine connects no problem, downloads the file manifest, generates a list of files to update, and actually starts downloading data. It stops somewhere after the 2nd or 3rd file and then gets stuck in an endless cycle of retries..... I'll call support to see if they can help.
