I also prefer to see the "real" data, even if it's "ugly".
However, I understand that a large segment of the customer base doesn't understand or appreciate that the "smoother" radar displays of other devices is just artificially massaged to look pretty, and doesn't actually have any better precision than the blocky display...just like a large population of the viewing public doesn't realize that you can't just "enhance" a digital photo to read a licence plate like they do on CSI all the time.
So if that is or becomes a drawback that limits iFly's appeal and thus their success in the market, I would be willing to accept a smoother, sexier, and "falser" radar display.
But that would not be my preference.
