I don't UNDERSTAND how to disable PRE networks. However, here's how to do your own experimenting:
From within iFly:
- Menu > Exit Application > Run in Background (or Shutdown Application) > Settings > Network
- Tap a "(Pre)" network you want to remove.
- Tap "OFF"
You should then see "Not Connected". I don't understand what to do if there's more than one PRE network listed--although I have a hazy recollection of figuring it out once, when I was at home and an Xfinity router showed up in addition to my own house router. (We have Comcast cable and currently rent a modem from them, which has two "xfinity" routers built in. I have to call Comcast now and then to ask them to turn those routers off so that all the dumb "smart" boxes in the house don't connect to them by mistake. They're off just now, so the 740 doesn't find them.)
I suspect that if you power the 740 off without re-establishing a PRE network, that network will not show up when you re-boot iFly. But I don't know and can't try it right now.
The iFly 740 Extra Features manual Describes "Network" on page 24, but doesn't answer the question. http://www.iflygps.com/portals/0/docu...es%20Manual.pdf
I recall that somone at AP answered my own question about PRE several years ago, but I can't find it today.
I also recall that manually selecting the Ping router in the airplane just prior to going flying a time or two is what convinced the 740 to do the right thing and connect to Ping if it's available. Right now, both my Ping and my home router are listed as PRE, and the 740 has been connecting to whichever PRE is available when it boots up.
It would be really good if some Adventure Pilot rep could study up on this and post definitive info about it.

This is how to have it connect. Otherwise it'll try to look for the first (pre) network.
If you're looking to have it connect the first time to ads/b automatically then you need to undo all (pre) connections, then connect to ads/b first. Then connect to any other networks afterwards and you'll be good to go!
